Hi have just found your site, I am married to Kevin Brian Docwra whose father was Robert Coutts Docwra (adopted). His brother Daniel Docwra's parents lived in Scotland and he has done a family tree going back to a Sir Thomas Docwra who was an adviser to King Henry Vlll !!
Very interesting site and I will be visiting often. Thank you

Can anyone help me I?m looking for the baptism of Henry Docwra, from the Census records he states that he was born 1815 Buckland Hertfordshire.

Hi Tim, I think this is Henry Docwra, who married Elizabeth Mallett in Godmanchester 2 Feb 1841, and whose son Henry was born in 1843 in St Ives, Huntingdonshire. Henry (b.1843) was a member of a Congregational church, so perhaps his father was too, which might indicate where you would find his baptism. The nearest Congregational church was at Chipping, built c. 1844, so that's worth exploring. If this is the family you're seeking I have more info on them so please drop me an email. :) Cheers! Anne

So glad I found your site and the Memorial in Lilley Church which is new to me. Thomas Docwra and Mildred Hales were my 12 X Great Grandparents. Best wishes, Ian.

Hi Ian, welcome to the site. How exciting to hear you are a descendant of Thomas & Mildred. Have you any more info about them or their descendants that you would like to add to the study please? Cheers!
