William H. Dockray married Zilpha Scott and beget Samuel R. Dockray in 1834 in St. Clair County, Alabama. Samuel married Eliza Jane Poe from San Saba County, Texas. When he returned from the civil war, he found Eliza Jane had died. He gathered his children, and remarried to Martha Elizabeth Woods. Together they had 6 children, one of whom was Henry C. Dockray, my great-great grandfather. Henry C. married Minnie Noble, and they gave birth to Roy C. Dockray, my great-grandfather. William H. and Zilpha Dockray are as far back as I can go, without things getting screwy. I know They are descended from Mathias Dockray of Queen Anne's County, Maryland, but I'm not sure how they are related. I really want to know when my branch of the Dockrays came to the U.S. and when. I also want to know why some sites list Mathias Dockray as Mathuis Dockery.(Was there a feud? Did they change their name?) Any one with info, please contact me!

Raymond Docwra, born 1901 in Edmonton district, married Edith Obery in 1924 in
East Finchley. Raymond died 1977 in Ashford Kent. Their daughter Beryl Jean Docwra married Raymond Colley, who was born about 1924. I am related to Edith, as she was my grandmother's sister.
I am interested in the extended family of Raymonds and the Colley's.

hello, my great grandmother's surname was Docura Mace and we have found her ancestors spelt their name Docwra, Docra, Dockery, Dockray etc back to 1760. She was born in Latchingdon, Essex in 1860 and all her ancestors came from that area. I have not been able to trace them beyond 1750 in Essex. Would love to learn more about them. They appear to be of humble origins.

I have also just discovered this website. As you can see from my name I am also a Docwra, my father being Geoffrey who was a descendant of George Washington Docwra. I think that the copy of the tree that I have is possibly that of 'The Big Tree' referred to by others. Whilst I am not actively seeking to trace any ancestors as my branch seems to be covered by this tree, I wondered if it would be useful to anyone for me to bring it upto date with all the subsequent descendants since my Father and his siblings. If so please let me know and also the best way to do it.keep up the good work, it makes fascinating reading .
