Will was proved on 29 April 1790

The last Will and Testament of me Elizabeth Docwra of Woburn in the County of Bedford Widow made this Seventeenth day of October in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Eighty eight

And first I give and bequeath unto my Son John Clerke Docwra ffive Guineas and to my daughter Lydia Docwra my Gold Watch

also I give and devise all and singular my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments situate lying and being in the several Parishes of Therfield in the County of Hertford and Eversholt in the County of Bedford and elsewhere in England unto my daughter Mary Docwra To hold to her and her Heirs In trust that She or they do and shall with all convenient speed make sale and disposition of all my said Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments and the Money therefrom arising (after paying thereout all Debts affecting my said Estate and all incident charges and expences) to divide and distribute the net produce equally among my three daughters namely the said Mary Isabella Docwra and Lydia Docwra

Also I give and bequeath all and singular my Household Goods ready Money Securities for Money Chattles and Personal Estate whatsoever not hereinbefore disposed of and subject to this Legacy hereby given unto and amongst my said three daughters equally share and share alike and in case of the death of my said daughter Lydia before she marries or attains the age of twenty one Years her Surviving Sisters shall have her share of my said Real and Personal Estate equally between them

And I appoint my said daughter Mary Docwra Guardian of my said daughter Lydia during her Minority and do desire that all my just debts may be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

And Lastly I nominate and appoint my said daughter Mary Docwra sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament

This Will was proved at London the Twenty ninth day of april in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninethy before the Worshipful James Henry Arnold Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honorable Sir William Wynne Knight also Doctor of Laws Master keeper or Commissary of the prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Mary Parry formerly Docwra wife of the Reverend John Parry the daughter of the deceased and sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattles and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer.
